The best recommendation I could give in the Zona Universitaria would be a small outdoor bar called the Voodoo Lounge. It is located on Independencia less than a block from Alma Mater (right around where all the students catch public transportation). They mainly play Latin music (salsa, merengue, bachata) as well as reggeaton. Pretty nice crowd on the weekends. Weekdays, I'm not sure.
