we are going to gran ventana, pop, on may 20.we are two fun couples looking to relax ,party and just have a great time . any ideas as to go outside the resort?

Yes, by all means get out and about. Do a search on this site of things to do.
Look at some of the trip reports...Some are really interesting diaries of four or five days of trips and adventures.
After that, see if you need more help.

They organise some kind of bar crawl. It's only down the road from your resort and they go into Puerta Plata, Sosua and Cabarete. I haven't been on it but will be doing in June, its one way to get out and see a bit of the DR.
