Went to hiquey TWICE in a month. Talked with the person outside. Was escorted to the director. Didn't wait in any lines. Deposited the docs I had. Got a list of what I needed.Went back the following week and gave them the rest. Cedula and one year residency within a month. So whats the problem?????

I thought one was required to go to Immigration in StoDgo to complete residency.

It didnt cost anything. Its part of the amnesty plan they put together for all the illegal people here.you get a cedula after 30 to 45 days and a tempo residency about a month after that. The office is in the new building next to the courthouse.

There is a pamphlet exlaining the process. Basically there are four sections. They require documents pertaining to each one. You also need to have one stamp on your passport prior to 2011 to qualify.

I thought the "legalization" process for Haitians was different than the temporary residency process.

Wow thanks-just saved me the hassle of wasting my time and energy with this nonsense. As usual, nothing works in DR, so no need to do anything!

A quick change of topic-I was at SDQ yesterday, the automated parking payments kiosks will not accept the new bills so soon it will be free, just drive up to the guy tell him the problem and lay down on your horn until he raises the gate.
