The decades of career of José Manuel Calderón, Luis Segura and Leonardo Paniagua were recognized with stars in his honor on the Boulevard of Stars on Winston Churchill Avenue, in Santo Domingo.

These men who have spent their lives dedicated to bachata, being pioneers of this rhythm, declared in 2019 by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity, received the tribute for their outstanding careers surrounded by their family, friends and relatives.

The art chronicler and communicator Carlos Batista Matos, president of the Bulevar de las Estrellas Foundation, valued the work of the three Dominican artists, leaving their names reflected on the walk of stars, where Juan Luis Guerra, Jatnna Tavárez, Rafael Corporán also appear. de los Santos, Pedro Martínez, Yaqui Núñez del Risco, Freddy Beras Goico, Juan Marichal, Mariasela Álvarez, Niní Cáfaro, Rafael Solano, Milly Quezada, Cristian Castro, María Celeste Arraras, Nuria Piera, María Montés, Monina Solá, Felipe Rojas Alou , Félix del Rosario, Sammy Sosa, Fernando Villalona, Charytín Goico, Luis Alberti, Johnny Ventura, Oscar de la Renta, among others.

“In the 60s, 70s and 80s they led those decades with their bachata, not only as performers, but also as innovators. And today bachata circulates throughout the planet,” said Batista Matos.
