Just got an email from Jet Blue. It has a sale on flights originating in the DR to cualquier destino. Fares start at $59 (one way) plus $80 tax.

Tickets must be bought by tomorrow night (10/1) and travel is 10/14 to 12/18 with some restrictions on the dates.

I don't think I can post a link.

Yeah. I almost thought about going to Newark for the hell of it. Cheap cheap cheap. They are opening up a few seasonal routes this winter.

I checked the link that David Z posted, and this isn't a deal from my point of view. I just purchased a round trip from St. Thomas to STI for a friend of my wife to get dental work done here. cost me RT $308.00 3 days advanced purchase. Prices are exactly the same PR-STI = 114.00 each way + 59.00 from PR to STT. same deal.. Just because it says SALE!!!! BUY NOW!!! doesn't make it true.. To be fair, I didn't look real hard (or care) about costs flying to the states.

I was talking Mainland.... not across the channel

You need to add the NYC - San Juan flight to the math

sorry if I was misleading

cheap would/should be anything under $500 return these days

$400 +/- would be killing it IMO

Guess I did well, then. Purchased a round trip on United from Buffalo to Santiago with departure in Sept and return in December. Total cost was $409.80 with (no idea why) first checked bag free, personal item and carry on free.

EWR - POP ..... high traffic period.... just over $600 if I remember correctly
