lingerie stores and/or adult toy & video stores

I didn't really see any of these in the North Coast.

We were in Cabarete, and Sosua last week, and were looking for a lingerie store and/or "adult" store in the area.

Is it legal to have these types of stores in the Dominican?
Any special licensing involved? Is it "frowned" upon there?

Yes it is legal. There is one in Santiago, I saw the ad outside the same mini-plaza panaderia La Campagna used to be, AV. Texas ( Not the only one for sure) and I'm pretty sure there're a few in the Santo Domingo area.
