but i can give it to my herbal tea - it did work. i have no gases left in my stomach :) (it only breaks your a** first few times you drink it). no pain. worked great. heck, i did swim few lengths of a pool today and i was operated only about 3 weeks ago...

when it comes to alcohol nothing beats a shot of vodka straight from the freezer. pure. followed by a greasy snack.

Depends on your tastes and your purpose in drinking. I like a shot or two of Sambuca or Ouzo. Long Flat, and Australian red wine is great. A quality creme sherry (Amontillado, Oloroso, or Fino) or port if you are drinking for pleasure, especially after eating. If you are just drinking to get drunk or a buzz on, drink Vodka with anything ( guava juice) In my young and foolish days a buddy and I polished off a case of Ne Plus Ultra scotch whiskey , a case of Canadian Club whiskey, and a case of Captain Morgans Deluxe rum in 7 days. The hangover lasted longer than the drunk did. That's why I don't drink hardstuff anymore.

Anastacio, try the liquor store/bar next to the vegetable market... they have the smirnoff, the grey goose, or whatever you want...

Tasted a new concoction on friday... the owners called it a lejito.... white rum, fresh mint leaves and freshly squeezed lime juice with some sugar... refreshing, and yes, quite deadly...

If one is confident enough about one's manhood then Campari soda is refreshing and will not gas you up too much yet gives a small hangover.
But the G&T has got to get the vote for a hangover free drink - and it is surprising how ratted you can get in a short space of time with gin.

And if I just ate then a Sambuca and espresso knocked back fairly sheepish can unglue my insides a little.

Cranberry juice should be sold with a warning.
It is stunning how much vodka can be disguised with so little cranberry.
Everybody was getting mashed up like this down in the Keys 20 years ago....mmmmm...nice.

I am glad that someone is keeping up our traditional English binge drinking, by the way.

Oh and almost forgot - cheap Spanish cava gives a nice buzz - and if you get the right one it is as tasty as any of the expensive vanity Champagnes. - especially after that first glass or two... ;)

You definitely need a GIMLET : )

Pour 2 oz gin and 1/2 oz lime juice into a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with 1 lime wedge.

iF YOU WANT MORE "kick",put a shot of "Grapa" in some good Portugese Port!
It WILL,give you the worst hangover you ever had! Which is good,it keeps you from doing it too often!

My phyisican tell me that the beer and the wine make the stones of kidney go themselves away so I like to drink them, the red is better than the white.
We two drink lot of beer together in moderate times we have health and enjoy our handles

My recommendation is a Negroni. While there are various recipes around, the original IMO is as follows:
1 portion of Gin (not the local stuff, use Beefeater, Tanquary or any other high octane brand)
1 portion of Compari
1 portion of sweet (NOT dry) vermouth (Punt e Mes is better, but I've not found it in the DR)
Shake with a lot of ice and drink it 'on-the-rocks'.
Once you acquire a taste for it, you'll love it. And you can leave it on a table, walk away, and it will still be there when you return, as no one will ever mistake it for theirs.
I've been drinking it for 50 years, and I'm still standing.
