I am a Canadian man married to a Dominican woman and we are expecting our first child in June of 2011. I have been told that if the child is born here in the DR, that the child can be declared Canadian as I ( father) am Canadian. Can anyone here give me any info on what the procedures are to go about doing this? Do I declare the child a Dominican citizen as well? Where do I go to declare her Canadian and what paperwork is involved and what do I need to bring with me?..any info on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
