????????

Did I miss something?????
Yes, I think you did.

In Sosua, it would go like this.
As you appear to be a night owl, let's start your schedule in the evening.

7 PM: Go out for dinner, have a few drinks, meet a young lady, and back in your hotel by 9:30 PM.

9:30 PM: Show your lady a bit of horizontal lovin', and finish up by 10:30 pm.

10:30 pm: Grab a shower and get out to the discos by 11 PM, do a little dancing, lot of drinking, then drag your drunken butt out at closing time and go to the Playa Chiquita Casino for more of the same 'till 4 AM, grab your future ex-wife, pop a Viagra, and head on back to the hotel.

4:30 AM: Get to hotel, take it slow, take advantage of that little blue pill and see if you can last 2 hours.

6:30 AM: Quick shower, peck on the cheek and say your goodbyes, and "Yes, I'll call you tomorrow", dive into bed for a 1 hour power nap.

8 AM: Get back up, throw some water in your face, go out for breakie.

8:30 AM: Order breakie, send an email home to your buddies to make them jealous, eat breakie, take a stroll around town, drop into the beach, have a swim, lounge around in a beach chair for awhile, doze off for a few minutes, get up and head back to your hotel for another quick shower.

12 PM: Stroll around town and find a place for lunch, socialize a bit then meet female goddess, take her back to hotel room for quickie, finish up by 3 PM, another quick shower, goodbye kisses, "will call you later and all finished up by 3:30 PM.

Dive into bed for a siesta, get back up by 6:30 PM, toss a bit of water in your face, go out and find a place for dinner by 7 PM.
7 PM: Repeat actions mentioned above.

The ?herbs?are plentiful here in the D.R. Cilantro is especially prevalent in the beans, basil occurs regularly and the sasson is downright everywhere!!

LOL

I suspect that he was inquiring about a different type of herb, unless there is one that you can ingest that keeps you awake for days on end???:paranoid:

They mix their herbs with wine, honey, and rum, they call it Mamajuan ;) hehehe. Or if you're in Miama, they call it Mama Jane

Aha! I was right originally about what type of "herb" you are looking for... and I reiterate - stay away from it in the DR unless you are looking for trouble. Stick to the mamajuana, not the other MJ !!!!!!

Marlie

(oops just realized my intials are mj - but I know you know that i wasn't talking about me!! LOL)

Sosua nightlife

Am travelling with my 19 year old daughter to DR next month. We thought we decided on Playa Dorado but have discovered a great deal to Casa Marine Reef Resort and my daughter really wants to explore this time....experience the local life so I thought Sosua might be a good choice--we haven't booked yet but want to soon.

She does like the nightlife at Playa Dorado and I am wondering if she can experience the same type of nightlife in Sosua....other young people that she can meet or is it mostly an older crowd in the clubs in Sosua?

I think we will spend a lot of time in Sosua (at least in the day time) and I really don't want to be going back and forth all the time between Playa Dorado and Sosua if we can avoid that.

On another note, has any posters stayed at Casa Marina Reef?

Thanks.

not trying to defend sosua (yes i am) but there are working girls in playa dorada and caberete not just sosua...

try all the places out suggested and see what is to your liking....

You really can't defend Sosua ... because Classico and Latino are full of prostitues. I really don't worry about them except when they are not inside the bars but blocking the street when you are trying to walk.

There is also a new disco ... called AfterOne Club at the Sosua Bay Casino building.

Enjoy the nightlife anywhere you go ..... Sylvia

There's a lot to do in Sosua .. Casa Marina I think have a disco and some shows in the night. You can walk to Classico, Latino and the new disco at the Sosua Bay Casino .. but, if you want to go to Playa Dorado at night you really need your own transport.

Let me know if you need any other info.

Hope you and your daughter have a great time here.

Apartment Rental/ Hotel in Sosua

Hello everyone, I'm new to dr1 but have to say that it was very informative as I used this forum for great info on my first dr trip. I am planning my second trip with a buddy of mine to Sosua. I am looking for a hotel or rental apartment that has a/c and wireless internet access with comfortable beds in Sosua that's walking distance from the all action. I heading to Sosua at the end of August.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply Rocky. Are there any rental apartments that have a/c and wireless internet access that you can recommend? Unfortunately the new garden hotel mentions no internet access on their website and that's something that's required for me to consider staying there.

Thanks

We're 100 yards from them and can offer you free wifi in our bar/restaurant, if you like. (no purchase required)
The condo/apartments that I know of with wifi are a bit outside of the center of town, like a 10 minute walk, or 1 minute on a motoconcho.
