Northwest adds Saturday flight to POP...

Northwest Airlines (NW) has Winter service from Minneapolis, MN to Puerto Plata (POP) on Saturdays only starting in January. Not sure how long it runs.

Also with the new partnerships, you can use your Delta SkyMiles for Northwest and Continental flights now. I was able to combine a NW flight to POP with a return on Continental using my Delta miles. Not bad when flights are running in the $1000 range.

Actually this services has been in place since December of 1997. It usually lasts through the first week of april.

The majority of the Airbus 320 is charter seats sold through MLT vacations/worry free vacations. It costs more to book directly through northwest than MLT, but with northwest you can stay as long as you like and are not limited to the one week charter price.
