Polls show Abinader has comfortable lead

Most polls show that President Luis Abinader will receive more than the needed 50%+1 of the vote during the 19 May 2024 presidential election. Abinader is running for reelection on the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) ticket. He is expected to run again with incumbent Vice President Raquel Peña.

For instance, the poll carried out by the Centro Economico Cibao from 25-27 February revealed that President Luis Abinader (PRM) has a comfortable lead in the preferences for the May presidential elections. Abinader reported a high 61.6% of voter intention, followed by former President Leonel Fernandez (FP) with 20.4%. The presidential candidate for the Dominican Liberation Party, Abel Martinez scored 9.4%. 4.6% of those surveyed said they did not know or did not answer the question of who they would vote for.
