"Cold Environment"

Pretty sure the original post included the words "cold environment", which would imply to me that you need cooling.

Power bills for this cooling? No worries, just get some locals to tap into the grid and they won't have to pay any power at all and keep their "hill" at a nice cool temp.

I think that is a good thing for the DR.
Now, after living in Canada for years I have learned and seen that in some resorts here people make snow with a machine and spray it all over when there isn't enough snow fall, but then it has to be cold for man made snow to stay on the ground.

So, it is going to have to be a big indoor project with the right environment.

As far as I know, Canada has already shipped huge amounts of snow to Puerto Rico and Jamaica for the same purpose.

I think that we should all wish Sr. Rodriguez well in his new challenge.

I have jokingly mentioned to many Canadians coming down for holidays during the winter months, to pack some snow in their cases to put on Mount Isabel de Tores - thereby making a ski-slope!! I really think that a DRY-ski slope would work very well here, 2 or 3 different levels of difficulty down Isabel de Tores on the existing "Land-slide" patch &/or through the trees, could bolster the traffic of the existing cablecar too!!!

Dry-ski slopes in Europe have been successful for many a year, so why not here?? YES, it hurts when you fall on the resin tufts used, but then, so does falling down on the badly maintained pavement!! More work (& money) for the doctors, more money they will be anble to spend in the shops ...... all means prices for locals won't go up QUITE as much as if we didn't have one here. I'm all for it - I might even get my ski's shipped out from England & start to practice again!!!

Now, how about a BMX bike track alongside it & also a skateboard park??? I think I am going to take shares out in the same plastercast company & maybe fund a few doctors who will set up as bone setting specialists!! - Grahame.

Re: Ski in DR

Cyber Park said:
A new Theme park is being built next to Las Amercias Airport, at the Cyber City lands.
The are going to have two areas: the Island and the world.
in the world map zone, I think that a Ski facility can be interested.

Had no idea there was a theme park project in the works -- about time! I remember back 12 years ago when something called "Ciudad Mecanica," a cheap travelling attraction park, would set up in La Feria Ganadera and draw huge crowds during their month long stint. Seems to me a permanent, well built and maintained park, should be a great success. Great place for families to spend the day, something for everyone.

Do you have any additional info on the project? Maybe a web site? I'd be interested in learning more about the project.

Here's hoping it will have a kick-butt roller coaster. I'm a huge fan.
