As in, to put an inch of peanut butter on a sandwich. I had a unabridged English to Spanish dictionary and even that didn't have it in it.
Me gusta mi novia untarse con mantequilla de man?
If it is a big amount of buttle embarrar is the right word to use.
Meanwhile a thin coat will be untar!

Saturar is a different thing. Is when you soak, so to say, it in the stuff.
That's typical when someone's vocabulary is limited. You will get away with it, but it is EMBARRAR. Por ejemplo, nos embarramos de lodo en el bosque.
When people say "soak the beans in water", in Spanish that would be "sumerja las habichuelas en agua" not "sature las habichuelas". It's not required to "sumergir" something in order to "saturarlo".
It was a light joke. Not to be taken seriously.
Sorry Gringo for not getting that...really thought you meant it.
Wel you don't untar the beans with water, do you?
