I would also take a good look at Colombia ...it runs rings around the DR ever since the death of Pablo Escobar ...Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena and Santa Marta are just a few great retirement places...

Off topic, but yes. I think us lookers need to consider other places. The UN just authorized another mission in Columbia to monitor the laying down of arms. Also, Ecuador scores high on best places to retire international. Was #1 a year or 2 ago and I think is #3 or 5 now. Worth exploring.

After leaving MN for Miami, I thought I would retire there. Nope. Too many Dominicans in Miami! LOL, jk.
