Hardly, or that lighthouse keeper was realllly slow

My first post and it is one of "criticism" :)

I find that "story" that supposedly was released by the CNO sort of ironic, seeing that Coral Maru was sitting in the Philly Navy Yard circa 1992 (nineteen NINETY TWO) awaiting the breakers??????

Of course that is about the 50-60th time I have heard that yarn, each time with a different ship :), or it could be the incident happened pre 92 and the story was declassified in 95, uh huh!

thank you for the correction you are obviously more knowledgeable in this area than myself and it just goes to show you cannot believe everything you read:) I personally still found the story humorous as possibly you did the first time you heard it', but if everything we read had to be totally true I think there would be very little to read and less to smile about.B/C

Lighten Up!!!

I am a US Navy Retired veteran.I thought that it was funny too! It made fun of the "Captain" after all!We get lots of "Supposedly" true stories here, take them as "Humerous Stories" nothing personal. The "Darwin Awards" are a good example.Look them up on "Google" for some laughs. The "Urban Legends" are also fun! The one about waking up in the ice-filled bathtub of your hotel, with a kidney removed is my favorite! I actually got an e-mail from a friend "Warning" me to be careful! But then he lives in California!! CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCc

Tough group here

I had hoped my use of "smileys" would convey the humorous intent of my reply.

I spent three tours on Coral Sea, one in Intel, so a "special bond" is present

Keep smiling.:alien:
