I'd like to hear you talk like that around people who really talk that way. Sounds like American street slang, and "you jackin it from my peeps." It's one thing to type that way if that is really your natural way of talking, and another to emulate it to appear cool. People who were raised talking like this might be offended.britishgirl said:tha whole laid back attitude thing is cool as eva...its like peoples sittin on tha street Drinkin outa presidente bottles an no1 cares an wen they doin dat there...they aint all drunk an disordely like tha UK!!!!!! wotz not ta like bout tha???lol

Drive in and enjoy the little swimming hole they have and enjoy some fresh fish or chicken that they have there. Not too many tourists there so make sure you bring your Spanish dictionary. If you really want to see some beautiful countryside cross the Jamao River and drive into the country. You will go into a time machine where everyone is friendly and people do not drive cars but ride on horses and donkeys. This is where my family is from!

Are you really British? Just curious, because of the slang you use.
keepin it real???listen to some british hiphop an you'll get what i mean.paradise said:I'd like to hear you talk like that around people who really talk that way. It would be like me trying to talk in a British accent, which would be mocking. Linguistics can be touchy, because they represent culture and heritage. If your family and culture talks like that, forgive me for assuming. If not, I think you've got my point.
Always keepin it real,

San Rafael, Los Patos, Enriquillo, El Polo, Lago Enriquillo, Pedernales, Bah?a de Las Aguilas, Cabo Rojo, Isla Beata... Oh, how I miss that area!
There is absolutely everything nature has to offer in that part of the country... Amazing beaches, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, deserts, mountains... What else can you ask for!!??

of course I may be a bit biased...and Luperon will deffinatly not be what everyone is looking for in a holiday....but I cannot wait untill the day I live there.
One of the best things about Luperon is the people. I have never met such amazing people in my whole life. (not just Dominicans as a whole...) but specifially the people of Luperon (maybe they have the same mentality of people in other smaller towns...but not from what I have seen.) Luperon is a GRRRRREAT place.
Now it is true I have not been all over Dominican, but I have been to Imbert, POP, Sosua, Caberete, Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Russia...and there are a few other small towns I have visited, but for the life of me I can't remember their names right now!!
There are of course good points and things I love about each of these places I ahve been....but to me LUPERON IS THE BEST!!!
I could write a whole long page about all the things I love about Luperon..not sure you all want to read it though...so I will just stick to my opinion of ...(did I mention this yet???) I LOVE LUPERON!!!
Sweetdbt, don't delay it any longer!... It's beautiful!... It's a rough underdeveloped area, but it's a great adventure. You'll enjoy the variety of the scenery, the warm hospitality of the people in that area, the rivers, the beaches... I can go on and on about it... Just LOVE it...sweetdbt said:Yan-Yan,
I've been wanting to visit the Southwest DR for about 2 years now, and it's never worked out. Your post has convinced me that I've just gotta get there! Can you recommend any reasonably priced accomodations in the area?
I'm waiting to say my favorite place (so far) until I get permission from admin. to attach some pics.
