Activation:

How do I activate a property?
1) On your Listings page, select via the left hand side check boxes the property or properties that you would like to activate. You can only activate a maximum of five (5) properties at a time.
2) Click on the "Activate / Renew Listings" button.
3) Follow the payment instructions.

Why can I only activate 5 properties at a time?
95% of our members only list 1 or 2 properties. It also makes it easier on our billing system if we limit the amount of listings you can activate simultaneously.

What do the colored dots mean?
These indicate the current status of a particular listing.

Active Listing is currently being displayed.
Not activated / Expired Listing has expired or has not been activated.
Waiting Activation Listing has been paid for and is waiting activation by the admin.
Blocked Listing has been blocked from being displayed by the admin.
Hidden Listing has been hidden by the member. Click "Show" to display.

When do I know when a listing is expiring?
Five (5) days before it's due to expire, you will receive an email with details on how to renew a listing or re-activate an expired listing. You can also see how many days you have left in your Listings page.


Pricing:

What payment methods are available?
Currently we only accept credit cards, these are processed by 2Checkout or Safshop.
Realtors and Brokers have the option to pre-pay via cheque if they are based in the Dominican Republic.

Do I have to pay in US Dollars? Can I pay in my local currency?
Right now we only except credit cards billed in US$. In the future we will offer alternative payment options. If your a Realtor or Broker, you are able to pre-pay by cheque in Dominican pesos (RD$).

What are the prices/listing plans?

Individual:
  • 1 Month (30 days) - US$19.95
  • 2 Months (60 days) - US$29.95
  • 3 Months (90 days) - US$39.95

Prices shown are per listing.

 
Realtors and Brokers:
  • 10 to 24 listings - US9.95 per listing
  • 25 to 49 listings - US6.95 per listing
  • 50+ listings - US4.95 per listing

Why is my credit card being declined?
If you are receiving a "Declined", "Referral", or "Card id not valid or not supported by your issuer" message when you try to purchase something through 2Checkout or SafShop, it means that our system is unable to charge your credit card. There are many possible reasons why this would be:

1) You have a check/debit card that has not been authorized for card-not-present payments
2) Your card has a per charge limit which would be exceeded
3) Your card has not been authorized for a card-not-present payment
4) Your card was previously used in an unauthorized transaction
5) You previously attempted to purchase from SafShop and your credit card was declined.
Wait 24 hours and try again.
6) Your card is not part of the worldwide Visa/MasterCard network
7) Your card issuer does not participate in the global card id identification network
8) Your IP address is part of a block of IP addresses blocked due to fraud
9) Your credit card has had fraudulent activity against it
10) You have previously charged back a SafShop purchase
11) Your email address was previously used in a fraudulent transaction
12) The country from which you are trying to make the purchase does not match the country on your billing statement (ERROR: Invalid billing information for this purchase.)

Given the variety of reason your card could be declined, you should contact your issuing bank and verify items #1 through #7. If none of those reasons apply, and your bank claims that SafShop has not attempted to charge your card, then most likely, reasons #8 through #11 apply.


Adding a property:

How many words/pictures can my ad have?
The property "Headline" can be up to 60 characters. The property "Description" has no character limit. Do not write in ALL UPPERCASE, for the "Headline" and "Description" this makes it very difficult to read.

You can display up to ten (10) photos per listing, along with a description for each photo.
Photos must be no larger than 250k in file size.

How do I add photos?
1) On your Listings page, click on the listing description link for the listing you want to edit. 
This link is under the "Property" heading.
2) Click on the Add Photo link from the left hand side menu.
3) Click the "Browse" button to select the photo files from your computer.
4) Click the "Upload Photos" button.

You can display up to ten (10) photos per listing, along with a description for each photo.

If your photos are more than 250K in file size, then you will receive an error message.

How do I edit a property listing?
1) On your Listings page, click on the listing description link for the listing you want to edit. 
This link is under the "Property" heading.
2) Click on the Edit link from the left hand side menu.
3) Edit the listing and click the "Edit Listing" button at the bottom of the page.

How do I get my listing to the top of the list?
You cannot. All listings are randomly rotated every time a page is displayed by a visitor. 
This gives everyone equal exposure. Refresh the page and see for yourself.


Responses:

How will buyers contact me?
On the top right of your Listing Ad Page is a text link called Contact Us (Email).
When a visitor clicks on this link they are taken to a form that they fill out.  The details of this form are sent to you via our response system. As soon as a response is sent to you, you will receive an email.
Alternatively you can be contacted via the phone or fax numbers displayed on your Listing Ad Page.

How do I read my responses?
1) On your Listings page, click on the Responses link from the left hand side menu.
2) Click on the Name link under the "From" heading to view the response.


Statistics:

What do the statistics tell me?
The statistics show you the following:

Visitors: How many visitors have looked at your Listing Ad Page.
Click Thrus: How many visitors have clicked thru to your website if you added a link.
Responses: How many visitors have sent you a response.

Statistics can also be viewed as graphical bar charts by clicking the "Graphical Mode" button.

How do I export the statistics to Excel?
On the right hand side of the statistics page you will see a button named "Excel".
Click on this button to download an Excel page with a detailed listing of your statistics.

Can I see historical statistics?
On your Listings page, click on the stats link for the listing you want to see historical statistics for. 
This link is under the "Stats (*)" heading.

How often do you email me statistics?
Statistics are emailed to you on the 1st of each month. 
This email breaks down the statistics from the previous month.


Problems:

Why can't I see my listing?
This could be for the following reasons.

1) You didn't wait for the page to re-load after you submitted the listing for the first time.
2) Your listing has not been activated by the admin. See How do I activate a property? for help.
3) Your listing has expired and needs to be re-activated. See How do I activate a property? for help.
4) Your listing is hidden or blocked. See What do the colored dots mean for help.

What if I am not receiving the response emails?
This could be due to a number of reasons, from spam blocking software to your ISP.

1) Check your “Bulk Mail”, “Junk” or “Spam” email boxes to make sure the DR1 Daily News is not being filtered out.
2) Ask your ISP if they are blocking emails from DR1.
3) If you’re using spam blocking software on your PC or MAC, make sure our emails is not being filtered out by this software.

If you are still having problems, register a free email account at either http://gmail.com or http://hotmail.com and update your profile with the new email address.

How do I change my contact details?
1) On your Listings page, click on the Edit Profile link from the left hand side menu.
3) Edit your profile and click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.
