Empresa de Generación Eléctrica Punta Catalina (EGEPC), the power corporation, has launched a tender for a 40 MW solar plant aimed at self-consumption.

The Punta Catalina Power Generation Company announced the formal start of the international public bidding process for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the Punta Catalina Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant. The Punta Catalina Power Generation Company is a 752 MW coal-fired thermoelectric located in Peravia province, an hour’s drive west from the capital city. The company says that the project seeks to complement the Punta Catalina thermoelectric plant operations through the incorporation of solar energy. The solar panels will be located on the same property.
