Presidents Mohamed Irfaan Ali and Luis Abinader / Presidency

President Luis Abinader arrived in Georgetown, Guyana on the evening of Wednesday, 13 May 2026, for a high-level official visit aimed at deepening bilateral ties in energy, food security, and trade. The visit, followed the President’s participation in the World Free Zones Organization Congress in Panama. A Presidency press release said the visit underscored the growing “flexi-lateral” partnership with Guyana, the Caribbean’s fastest-growing economy.

Upon his arrival at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, President Abinader was received with full military honors before attending an official reception hosted by President Mohamed Irfaan Ali at the State House.
