Authorities in Port-au-Prince, Haiti have reported that the government has regained control over what is said to be the largest hospital in Haiti. The facility had been under the control of the gangs that, until recently, controlled much of the territory in Haiti.

As reported, the arrival of police forces from Kenya, preceded by support from the US military, have bolstered the local units of police and several of the gangs have either fled or have been eliminated, and their grasp of control has weakened.

The media reports that these are hospital facilities that have been sacked and vandalized to a major extent during the four months it was controlled by the gangs.
