I'm heading to Punta Cana, and am looking at a hotel in Bavaro called MT. Someone suggested it to me, but I can't find any info about it on the web.

I know it's an all inclusive, has anyone stayed there? What's it like? Does anyone know what the rates are?

Maybe MT is short for Melia Tropical?

It's not an all inclusive. Search on Facebook for "The MT Hotel". Rates starting at $40

It is in Plaza Brisas on Avenida Espana (Friusa). Mainly German clientele and at times the Harley crew from around the island (Route 66 is in the complex). Do not expect much of a view, but do expect a convenient location with a number of bars eateries and a supermarket close at hand.

Cheers

I looked on a map and it seemed far from the beach. Is it true you have to take a bus to get from the hotel to the beach? How is the nightlife there?

Yes, you would need transportation to the beach from there. As for nightlife, just walk outside and make a right turn about 10 feet and you will find plenty of nightlife.

5 minutes ride to the next beach which would be El Cortecito.
1 minute ride to the Mangu Disco at the Occ. Grand Flamenco Hotel if You look for a nightclub as Nightlife.
Bars and eateries and Grocery shopping right on site, no Transport needed.

There's also a fairly nice pool in the property, so unless you wanted to be at the beach, you can relax at the pool right in front.
