Regarding their outstanding academics, I have never heard of Depaul.. .
Depaul U. is ranked in the Top Tier (Tier 1) by US News & World Report, is a basketball powerhouse, and the largest Roman Catholic universisty in the U.S.A. Not to be confused with DePauw U.

A thousand beat up Toyotas could ride past you in La Vega or where ever you live, and one Range Rover rides by and you would say to yourself" people in La Vega has a lot of money I just saw a Range Rover" You see what you want to see in DR and that is the problem.
The city of Sosua has "regulars" How many men go to Sosua just because of the sex? I do not go to Sosua because my reputation is important to me. The one time I visited Sosua I came across very unattractive people men and women. I think Sosua is the "beer belly" capital of DR. Some of those women in Sosua YUCK!!! If you like Sosua OK great, but do not try to make Sosua a place where a family can enjoy themselves.
I would not take my daughters to Sosua if the entire world sank in the ocean and Sosua was the only place left. My girls and I will drown.

So.. I'm a half glass full type of guy, I completely agree with you on that.. 4 years ago I bought a dating website that was on the verge of bankruptcy at a budget price.. Now it affords me a comfortable lifestyle at 26 living on the paradise island of my choice without having to lift a finger for the rest of my life..
I have seen the negatives that you refer to in Sosua and honestly.. no family would ever even be bothered with it unless they were looking for it.. I don't take my family to the downtown area that's known for that sort of stuff.. Just like I don't take my family to liberty city or opa locka when we visit Miami.. There is messed up stuff everywhere in this world.. it's all what you make of it.
Honestly I'm feeling like there is a real hard push to clean up Sosua from the mayor and hopefully the foreign investment will continue to pour in.. Heard about the australian guy that bought playa chiquita (casino on eastern end of Sosua), rumors of La Sirena I see a pretty nice future for Sosua if they can move the hookers, drug dealers, and conchos to Charamicos or something. The supermarket urban bars on PC are absolutely horrible also, all that riftraff needs to be moved to Charamicos or something.. Infiniti Blu and Hispanola are just too damn beautiful to be close to that crap.
Btw, I have no investment in Sosua, nor do I plan on it anytime soon. I rent in Cabarete but I just feel like Sosua is going to do its best to make a change towards the more high end tourists and I applaud them for that.
