Places to Avoid in Santo Domingo

Thanks. I've been reading posts from others topics here and SD sounds like an either ongoing episode of Mad Max or an enchanting vacation depending on who you ask.

Santo Domingo is still my least favorite location in the DR. Keep in mind I don't like cities in general. SD is hot with horrible traffic and on the ocean with no good beach.

It's both. If you like big cities, especially old ones then you should love Santo Domingo. People either love it there or they hate it. You'll be fine during the day time walking around the various locations mentioned, just take taxis from where you're staying to those locations. In a couple days you'll have a few trusted drivers on speed dial (do get a Dominican cell phone). Shopping is the best. Not buying anything, just shopping. It's more of a social experience than the way we do it in the USA. Dining alone at just about any al fresco venue? Not for long. Santo Domingo is one of my favorite cities, flawed but fun.

The best gym is............The Body Shop: Avenida Sarasota in Bella Vista! 60,000 square feet of state of the art equiptment, great classes, oh and plenty of white dominican chica's. Cost per day is 12 bucks or 500 pesos. you can pay by the week for 2000 pesos. Expensive but totally worth it.

I feel the best way to get around, get to know a nice chick. Then she will be your free tourist guide around. I did that all over the world. It was great use to me.

That only works with fat girls but then they expect you to let them do things to you. Terrible, nasty things. The shame!

Harley I think its commendable that you are faithful to your wife. I wish I could have said the same. Cest la vie. Dominican women can be a bit pushy but the bright side is that it makes me feel like a rock star.
Then again I am a Rock Star in the States but they are much older and fatter LOL
