Has anyone seen these anywhere? A little kit that enables you to DIY teeth for a brief wait? I've looked in three of the bigger pharmacies in the city here and they just look at me like I'm speaking alien.

I'm possibly going out of here sometime soon and so prefer my old dentist. I got insurance with work, but still I think I'd rather pay the flight home fee.

Anyway, so now you know something you didn't before.

You can get pretty much free dental care at the dental college, I see no reason money should be an issue for those even without insurance.

Doubt you will find them in this country. You can order an emergency dental kit through Amazon.com,they vary in price and contents. One should be able to order one for under US $25. This is all in anticipation of a dental problem as it takes about a week wait to receive it. If you have an immediate problem see a Dominican dentist even if it is quick fix to hold you over until you see your dentist.

Whatever work you need done I think you should give Dental Cibao a try first. This is one first class dental office. I am in Santo Domingo but the bus ride to Dental Cibao in Santiago is well worth the professional, caring treatment I get there.

Those kits work for about a day or until you eat solid food. You can get temp work done at a dentist and have them use bonding for about $20 and many dental clinics accept walk-ins.

I don't know about SD. I always saw Dr Wendy in Sosua, who was always wonderful, though limited in what she could do. Wish I could get to a Dominican Dentist. No way I can afford what I need in the US.

Cheers Peter. If anyone else can recommend a place I can go to get a quick temporary fix at a reasonable cost I'd appreciate it.

One thing I would recommend is a dental rinse you can get in the Dominican Pharmacies. I don't know what's in it, but it's strong as hell and seems to keep any bacteria in your mouth at bay for a while. It's called Guatapanal. I wish I could get the stuff in the US. Just use about a tsp or so of it the first time you try it. It will also whiten your teeth quite a bit.

Take the bickering to pm, or I will extend to both parties in question the same courtesy of a ban.
