P PeterInBrat Gold May 29, 2006 10,265 200 0 Jan 16, 2014 #4 Thermite burns at 2500F which is pretty close to 1100C. For about a buck a pot, it might be worth a try. If you're melting lead, a heavy aluminum cooking pot will do.
