Who is talking about Clemson?
That's where Chip has his engineering degree from. You called his education third-rate. Perhaps you are just talking out of your posterior. What did Chip do to you?
Who is talking about Clemson?
I don't go by that, considering just the U.S. alone has over 4,000 2 to 4+ year colleges included.
Let alone when you add the top ten countries in the world by GDP/development.
Then again, places like the U.S. and U.K, where most of the top achievers are immigrants or one generation remove from an immigrant, it's hard to say who's who.
Also you add in the fact that you have massive R&D tied to gov and private finances in those top ten nations and you get the picture.
This is like arguing that the men that developed (came up with the idea and actual thing) using a rubber tire filled up with air for vehicles instead of rubber over wood/metal or stone(stone age) was SMARTER than the guy that placed the first hole on a round piece of stone and rolled away a load with it...
Would you care to explain the relevance of your second link?
The second link has information where no University in the DR is listed until the ranking of between 2,000 and 5,000 in the world. Impossible to tell which exact DR schools are ranked and exactly where in that 2,000 to 5,000 range. The point is, no DR school in the top 2,000 world wide .

In your opinion, education in RD has no value. I would suggest that the vast majority of educators and graduates would disagree. And I would hazard a guess that you still don't have the 'nads to express your opinion to anyone in a face to face conversation.
Next time in comprehensible English, please.
A third tier education is still far better than no education. Nobody implied going to school here has no value. A degree from a school here generally carries little value outside of the DR.
Not true. Many Americans and other foreigners study medicine in the DR and have done for many years and then go and get licensed in the States or Europe. Furthermore, PUCMM offers dual degrees with French and American universities.
Also, engineer with bachelor's from PUCMM can sit for the Fundamentals Exam in the States and can get registered as a professional engineer. This is saying a lot as not every college or university in the US can say this. I understand PUCMM is working toward getting ABET accreditation, which would be even more impressive given that Yale's Environmental Engineering program does not have this certification, just to give an example.

As I see it, Chip is not responsible for the caliber and quality of the school system here.........
When a person knocks his effort by downgrading his education..........
You are just making yourself look small..........
He is making an outstanding effort in his education that few of us here as foreigners would ever consider...........
I may not agree with his views and ideas, but I do respect him for all the hard work he has taken upon himself to try and make himself a better man for himself and his family........
While a lot of dr1'ers talk about their experiences sitting in a bar.........
Chip is improving his future life for himself and his family with an extended education...........
B in Santiago
Good for Chip continuing his education and doing right for his family. However that does not excuse the cr*p he posts. It is irritating to no end how he feels he is the spoke person for the Dominican Republic. His around about comments insinuating that foreigners are the root of all evil and bad in DR. One thing I think managed to learn all these years in the DR is that the Dominican people have no respect for any foreigner that comes here and pretends to know how and what Dominicans think. You may have some comprehension but you will never truly know.

Bob, I wasn't clear I was describing his degree from PUCMM. They are reported here to be ranked about #5200. Better?
Perhaps if you had a first tier education your command of the English language would be better. LOL. PUCMM is ranked between 200 and 250 in Latin America. Even 5000th in the world isn't that bad. How many are they ranked against.
"No Offense",To "My Fren" Chump, or to "Bob" either, but I seriously doubt that chip has ever seen, studied in, or visited, Clemson!!!!!
His studies were done here in the DR, not in the USA!
Again,..."No Offense",..."My Fren"!
I went to Harvard, when I lived in Boston, just not for very long!
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
Any jobs yet chip,..."My Fren"???????? :cheeky::cheeky::cheeky::cheeky:
"No Offense"!!!!!! :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Getting a visitor's pass for a day in Harvard does not translates into attending CCCCCCCC....
