The first guy I know for sure doesn't even speak with a Spanish accent. The second guy the younger one speaks just like a person from Dominica that lives in St Thomas, VI , trying to speak English. I from St Thomas, I see them hear them all day!

the younger guy is from Punta Cana

the older guy (with the missing teeth and scars) first video is from Samana (but not from the Samana English speaker, they speak with a different accent)

they do have Spanish pronunciations, otherwise many people hear would be saying they talk like Anglo-West Indians exactly, what sperates them from is the Spanish pronunciations

This sound like a Spanish man from DR????

the vid is not loading for me

but, even today i met two Dominicans (considentially only been here for a year both of them) in college, they spoke english in a caribbean accent as well, with spanish pronunciations, idk if it's the voice or the phonetics or something

like i said, it all depends on the Dominican, usually the lower class Dominicans (especially the Afro-Dominicans), are gonna sound more Caribbean

The old guy doesn't even say Samana the way a Dominican pronounces it. ?????

they don't sound West Indian because Dominicans don't have that Southern Irish flavored dialect that West Indian islands recieved in the 17th and 18th century

I used to live in Trinidad (my husband is Trinidadian) and I remember thinking on my first visit to Barbados that compared to the Trinis, their accent had an Irish lilt. This is the first time I've heard any reference as to why.

yeah he does actually, bro the guy's Dominican

pause it also, where you can see his name tag, Manuel de Jesus

Sorry 'bro', name tag means nothing. We had a Haitian caretaker for 15 years, named Miguel. It was only when he was filing his regularization papers, and we saw his passport, that we found out his name is really Antoine.

Hey, believe what you want, you're entitled to your opinion. I've just never, ever, heard a Dominican pronounce Samana like "week".

bro, that guy is Dominican, enough is enough already

some a my family members speak with that particular accent and are Domnican, some a my friends speak with that accent and are Dominican

ok, the better question is, why do Dominicans speak English differently than other hispanics sometimes
