my thoughts..

The people that have been should be able to give a truthful opinion and share their experience with others.......
Personally i feel that having saved money 11 months to go on holiday for christmas...to arrive at a resort that is not ready to be opened a huge dissapointment......

I agree with you. We leave on the 18th, hence the reason why I have been so active on these forums to spark a conversation and find out whats going on in the hotel.

i think that if we had everything on 1 post then it gives people a quick study vs going though 500 posts and 51 pages.

This is almost becoming a novel.,

After spending two weeks firsthand on the resort i am more than willing to help you with pros and cons...Factual from experience not speculation........

if you could simply make a list without personel feelings that would be a great start.

Point form, then a quick note.

ie.

Cons:
Toilet - Didn't flush all the time. Overfilled, left Sewage
Rooms - Cleaned 50% of the time
Buffet - Flies were flying around

Pros:
Beach - Nice

(Having some for info per thing would be nice)

ie. Beach - Nice, little rocks, nice waves, etc
Food - Good variety, tasted normal.

BooB Pool --- ooops I mean Adult Area Pool - Lots of topless women

:):):):) Had to let that one in. Lets Hope I'm right :):):):)

wonderland...i figured out ( i think) why your link is not working.

with kodak gallery...you have to send peeps invites to use your album...( i have my huneymoon pics from cuba there already)

if you use a site likle webshots.com...you can set it up so that one and all can view with out having to sign up.

kodakgallery is primarily a purchasing site...not so much for sharing.

so...my i get an invite to see your photos please?!?

ooooops, not getting many good reviews.
I am getting married there in april, really hope tething problems will be sorted out. I want it to be remembered in a positive way (as it should be) not in a bad way.

Thanks to everyone for their reviews whether good or bad. It is useful to have an insight into what is going on there. If necessary so we can prepare ourselves for the worst lol.

I myself am not worried. U have problems wherever you go. Can anyone name one vacation where they didnt have some kind of problem during there stay?

I know this point has been discussed but i have to say that i am from england and booked with first choice. I booked my wedding in July and i wanted a delux room as it is my honeymoon aswell but they were none available. The travel agent said to me that We would still have access to the adult only pool, the extra money was just for the upgraded room, check in priority etc (?7 extra a night isnt a lot extra).

Well I suppose they didnt know much about the resort then. (although i am a little upset that I have manged to get my children in rooms with my parents but cant escape from them around the pool lol. well it is my wedding and honeymoon.)

I just cant wait to go 116 days and counting lol

Well i have finished now. everyone who is going soon keep ur chin up and gop with a positive attitide always works better than going expecting the negative. Remember to remember us on ur return

Having read most of the reviews, some bad and good I just hope the FC management pull out all the stops to iron out any teething problems before I travel on the 10 Feb.

Having experienced a bad trip last year with FC - HV Turkey, I will be reporting all problems to the FC rep as they happen and will make sure the rep fills in a customer compliant report each time.

Make sure the rep gives you a copy of the report as proof of your compliant.

Without the report FC UK will not ackowledge your compliant when you return back to the UK and any compensation offered may be limited.

If you do make a formal compliant to FC UK remember to decline the first offer of comphensation (our HV Turkey compliant took 5 letters and 2 months to resolve).

Just good basic info - Just in case!

Is anyone travelling in the 10 Feb it would be good to here from you.

We are all looking forward to this trip.

Update

I have been having a problem tying down the company / hotel to a meeting to get an update. They are swamped with issues and trying to resolve them.

In my opinion: they are 100% booked without 100% of the rooms being ready.

The representatives on the ground are doing their best to help out. Please don't take it out on them.

More soon.

I agree with Lizzy, however just as everyone has a right to their own opinion, I have a right to my own. The people who post negative reviews which specifically tell me not to go there are out of order however. It should be my decision how I spend my very hard earned money. :tired: I appreciate everyone's point of view, but the place can't be ALL bad. Still counting the days with an open mind! I have NEVER been on a vacation where there wern't some problems. People, lets remember that we are going to a developing country!! :ermm:

Also, just wondering if anyone who has been to the resort has had direct contact with the Signature rep on staff. Has he or she been able to help?

getting scared

Wow I was all set to go with an open mind, but now Im just starting to get freaked out! Someone on another forum said that 5 out of 6 adults were severly vomiting.I suppose enough to damage a vessel in their eye or something. The plumbing problems were bad enough but it isn't fun to be sick and have plumbing issues!! They don't go well together!

cmon peeps...you arent heading to the chateau laurier or the banff springs hotel here. ive never been to the dr (cuba all the way) but have been at everything from a 3 to a four and a half star...there are problems everywhere. As someone said...the place was closed down for 5-6 months...im sure if i didnt flush my toilets in that length of time (ew) theyd back up too. Skitters that bite you there are not on holidays...they live there, and the resort does not charge them to be on the resorts (maybe they should charge them a sqatters rate and build another pool for the adults there with children...hahaha) If the food at the buffet was covered all the time to keep the flys out...a-it would get sticky and gross, b-some people would uncover it to fill up there plates and not bother to cover it again.
People who say or have already made the decision to change resorts based on a few bad reviews...hey....sorry to see you go....but if you are going on vacation to find something to complain about while im going for r+r and fun that i can can create without animation staff to hold my hand....best of luck and more meat at the buffet pour moi.

This is a family oriented resort with an adults-only section that has its own pool. whoopty do...lada dee da. From what i have read....all you get is a different color bracelet and vip status. well, the skitos are gonna bite your a** too, dispite how much you paid and we all will get the same toilet paper.
if you didnt want to be around other people's younguns...why diod you book here in the first place when there are many adults only resorts to choose from?!?

so, the reception staff is cranky. would you not be too if you were barraged by peeps with unrealistic expectations for a new resort?...maybe they did open to early, maybe they did over book....but (pardon the recurring theme here) but you do attract more flies with honey then you do with coconuts.

The staff....well...its anything like it was in cuba...the staff are likely there 10-12 hrs a day, on there feet, trying to make everyone happy and obviously not doing a good job of it but the sounds of some of these negative reviews. wow, folks, we are all grownups here, stop being so dang picky about everything. You are on vacation!...drink, eat, drink some more, go to the bathroom a few times and repeat the cycle.

I with my hubby, and daughters leave on the 11th for vacation, not a head hunting mission. If i get a chance to meet up with peeps from the forum, great, we can swap notes there. Hope to meet Planner with a can of timmy ho's and a bit of chocolate (if it makes it of the plane) When i get back, you will get a review with the good and the bad and i will post pics.

And, BTW while we are on the subject of skeeters (sort of) we have them here too, lots of 'em and to me they are a sign of warm weather!!! Wear some deet and suck it up!
