I've been looking for crab here in Santo Domingo and am having quite a bit of trouble. The closest I've come are the guys along the road selling them live.

I also live in the mountains in the SW, and I'm sorry to say that jaibas (fresh water crabs) became extinct in the region about 20 years ago.

A while back you were able to order king crab legs from Chef Pepper in Santo Domingo...not sure if they still have them.

Wow - you've got my taste buds all fired up - can't wait to get down and
enjoy some of Meson's fare - especially the "Cangrejo a la Criolla" !!!

Glad it is only a few more weeks away....:pirate: :lick: :cheeky:

Where is Chef Pepper located in SD?

You mean it's been six months since you started this thread, and still haven't found your crabs? What are you looking for, is it King Crab (Centolla)?. I believe they're importing them now. If you ask me, King Crab is way overrated (and overpriced) as gourmet food.
