thank you for caring for the people in your employ. that's something that there is not enough of in this world today.
Many, many companies in this country overextend themselves for the employees due to the strict favoritism of the employee part in the law's eyes. Why? Because of the abuses to employees over years. Now it's 180. I know many business owners like Cao who put their heart into the human resources part. Unlike the states, you can find a friend here in your employer. Of course there are many exceptions, as always.

I wonder what's on the mind of persons, who repeatedly paste hedlines such as
Up to 650 000 people die of respiratory diseases linked to seasonal flu each year ?
Did they go to college? Have they learned to evalute the relevance before they write something?

Yes, 650 000 die due to flu. And so many due to cancer. And car accidents. And strokes. And drugs.
Yet all these numbers added together aren't even close to wreak the havoc comparable to COVID-19
COVID is not only about lost lives. It is also about lost health, lost parents, about lost jobs, about forefeited homes and erradicated businesses. It is also about trillions of debt the future generations will have to pay. Nothing of these (lost health, parents, jobs...) is new nor unique to COVID. It is the scale of the losses which should terrify you.

Dialectical materialism - transformaton of quantity into quality, comes into play here.
Therefore you should all wear the mask. Even if you are 14-years old, slim, healthy girl.

.
Yes they don’t spread and shutdown hospitals , where hospitals are short staffed and tell you to go home to die.. people dying because they are to scared to even go for other ailments .. your about to experience it in DR bury your head in sand there is plenty of it.. the Dominican has no one to call when Hospital staff start dropping..hell Florida can’t even fill positions of staff down..keep burying your head in sand and prey to god it doesn’t effect anyone close to you or loved one..

The havoc was caused by the response, or lack thereof, to the virus.

Did people not investigate the health care systems here within RD before they decided to relocate within?
While blame should and must be place on the RD government and medical system overseers, what is to be said of those expatriates who either did not investigate/prepare carefully, or simply looked the other way?
I am pretty sure few people investigated the health care systems in the DR with a pandemic in mind that even challenges first world countries.
I have read that for just about everyone alive at this time none of them have seen a situation like this before.

I admit I didn’t and even got legal residency in 2006 and still didn’t research much the health care system. I was in Cuba before here and was in Cuba and came to DR in my start thirties. I had an international insurance for some years that I never used and then had no insurance for a number of years but then started having lifestyle based health issues. I have had local insurance now about 5-6 years and now with Humano. Important is being in a system and that a clinic has a file on you. I was lucky to not have a very serious situation but I easily could have had. I think one can have an ok coverage here with the right insurance and picking the right specialists. You have to make an effort yourself to know where to go. But overall the DR does not have a good system and especially Dominicans deserve better.

thank you for caring for the people in your employ. that's something that there is not enough of in this world today.

I have always lived by an edict that those that work for/with me, should be treated better than I treat myself. Without them, who am I?
While I am not perfect, who is? I will always stand by the above stated principle. It is what I was taught. It is how I live. It is what I strive to instill in others.

It will be easier to attempt to highlight, and respond in order, as I prefer easy reading, as opposed to a hodgepodge mumbo jumbo.

1. Spread hospitals? Unsure of what this means.
1A. Shutdown hospitals? Which hospital within RD (name and location) has been shut down?

2. Which hospital in the world is not short staffed? Even those on television shows are. Ask any doctor or nurse, and they will always tell you they need more personnel.
2A. Which hospital within RD (name and location) sent a person home to die?

3. You are starting to project, and this posting was made at 1300hrs. To early in the day, in my opinion.

4. I have been hearing since February, how we are going to experience it here in the RD. 5 months. What has happened?

5. The reality is, hospital staff has not, and is not dropping. Next.

6. Florida is not RD, it is Florida. RD is RD.
Please stop making comparisons to other countries. As desired, the OT thread is gone. Please adhere to the forum's rules. We are speaking of RD.

7. Two references to me burying my head in the sand, but yet, I, my employees, and all of their families are safe from this China Virus.
Perhaps some of you should follow OUR lead.
7A. Prey is actually pray.
7B. I pray to God all the time. Always have. Not just when I need, or desire something in life. He is also the only One aside from my Grandparents, and my dying Brother on his death bed that I have knelt for in my entire life.
7C. I have many people that I am close to, and yes, many that I love. I consider them equal, and would not be me, if it was not for them.

Well of course not Mr. Windeguy. A "PANDEMIC"????????
How about simple surgery?
How about needing a pint of blood?
How about setting a simple fracture?
How about suffering a myocardial infarction?
You as a musician, have played many venues here within RD. Many bars. Many restaurants.
Have you ever seen a defibrillator (AED) on premise?

This could give some of us a panic attack

Well, since I am the person who posted it, feel free to ask me instead of playing coy with your faux outrage.
Grow a set, and private message me. Start a "conversation".
I'd be more than happy to share with you my educational background, but if you desire transcripts, you'll be disappointed. I only go so far on open web forums. Meeting in person is different though. I'd be more than willing to assist you with your spelling deficiencies.
Are you interested?
