Interesting.
It looks difficult to make comparisons with the DR and other countries with similar population numbers.
The DR has a sizable percent of the population at age 24 or younger and most Dominicans live in cities.
There are many more variables than I originally imagined.
The DR has a large percent of its population age 24 or younger.
Most Dominicans live in cities.
Both these factors raise the likelihood of spread based upon the experiences of other countries.
If we compare the DR numbers to other countries with older average populations and most living in the country it makes the comparison invalid and will make the DR look as though it is not dealing effectively with the epidemic.
Using population numbers alone it is impossible to say the DR is doing well in their response to the virus.
It is far more complicated with a ton of variables.
I am left with hoping the DR is doing well but no factual basis for support.
I think that is called wishful thinking.
With such a young population the RD should be having a low death rate.
