So -
I had new tires shipped in....
Black Friday sale.... about $30/tire to ship.

Downtown today for the install...
Cabrera has only one balancing machine so went to that gomero

In/Out in an hour..... old removed-new balanced & installed..........1,000 pesos
What's not to like !!??

The rubber was a bit stiff from being stacked for the shipment....
I suggested putting them in the sun... Nope -- Gasolina

That had me wondering - gasoline ???
A bit of gas..... a bit of fire..... Poof !
Rubber pliable
Whodathunkit !??

All good now.... and the new tires are 1" higher.........
More height, more air between me and the potholes

All good ....... The Easy Life!!

I don't want to be a bummer, but check the DOT code on the tires. Last four numbers are the date of manufacture.
Of the four, first two are week, last two are the year. Tires expire in 6 years, as in not so safe.
Chunks of rubber tubes disolved in gas have been used to "refresh" tire to make them look good by wiping them.
So 3619 would be the thirty sixth week of 2019.
I hope it didn't happen to you.

I have seen a trick done for tires that won't seal to rims and they use lighter fluid or an flammable aerosol to expand tires. Never heard of hard tires being softened. I think driving would have done that slowly.

I am amazed at how quickly stuff is arriving from Amazon at the moment. Today I received parcels I ordered on Amazon Monday night. I use CPS.
Twice I have ordered things on Amazon that were in the Miami Distribution center and got them delivered the same day.

Most of my deliveries are like yours-2-3 days.

AND THE BEAT GOES ON

My normal exercise routine is a fast walk on the beach at lowish tide....today was lowish

I used to call it Power Walking but at this point - it may be just fast walking

After, I have a swim
Today.... Bohemian Day - I shaved at the beach
Car window reflection for a mirror - perfect!!!

Back into the water for a final rinse...... b'fast sandwich at the local joint....
and the day is in motion

Does it get any better???

And to make matters better............

I have new BlueTooth adapter in the car and can stream Sirius....
The streaming offers different selection

Instead of toggling back/forth between the 60's & 70's channels,
They have a 60-70's combo channel..... that and SoulTown is about all I need for daytime

Handy when you have to do it at home. But do be careful! I know of split rings rims sending that ring flying.

Yup.....
A little bluetooth adapter for the AUX plug and I'm good to go.

Or wire it to the AUX but the newer phones have no plug facility

Works well in areas w/ reception - obv
In faraway hills = maybe not so good

You can download the Sirius app to your android. I would think plugging a Bluetooth connector into a car radio would allow one to listen to their cellular Sirius on their radio through it.

I have a Sirius device base installed in each of my vehicles which connects to the radio via the antenna cable. All I do is plug my Sirius device into whichever vehicle I'm driving.
