Is uber available at Puerto Plata Airport? I'm landing there then i will need to head to my Airbnb. No way I'm getting scammed again by the regular taxis.

Rumor has it they are no longer allowed to pick up at arrivals.

Yes I'm only bringing a carry-on.
Any idea how much a regular taxi ride from the airport to Barrio Haiti would cost? Trying to estimate just in case they try to rip me off.
distance does matter ( in terms of Minimum price they would charge) , but generally speaking they will want at least $20 for ANY Ride
so if you only have a carry on , there is NO reason to pay this price, unless you want to ..
Its a nice walk to the main road .. no one will bother you . in the day time .
NIGHT arrival , would be a completely different story . but then we not talking about Publicos anyway
just looking at the Map .. to your destination from POP ,, that looks more like a $35- 40 USD taxi Ride
Don't know about Uber at POP. Do know about people that don't ask the price of a ride.... then complain.
Being you only have carryon, take a walk in the daytime out to the highway entrance to the airport. You will see the white publico taxi / gua gua stand to your right at the highway 5 for travel to Puerto Plata. Take the shared publico taxi to the Parada Carro Publicos (station) and pay the guy 100 pesos ($2)..
When everyone has unloaded , tell the guy another 100 pesos if he will take you to Haiti Barrio right now. If he says no, just leave and catch the next publico which is heading west and have them stop before the Shell Station, you should be able to walk where you are going to. You should be able to do the whole trip for US$5

If I'm supposed to take a Caribe bus from Puerto plata to SDO Saturday morning and then taking a cab from the Caribe Tours terminal in SDO to my airbnb in the early afternoon (during toque de queda), will i have issues finding a cab or a uber in santo domingo? Or getting arrested by the police on my way?
