They'll say new variants pop up every season so they will use that excuse to basically force people to take new doses every year.

Anyone who actually thinks they are "fully vaccinated" and "free" with their 2 doses is in for a ride awakening. But that will teach them, they asked for it.
That was never me. I always said CV19 is here, there and everywhere to stay. We just have to live with it.

THIS RIGHT here ,, is what I have also now Heard from Medical Professionals.
But I have no LINK to an Article ... to " prove" it....
The Stats are not in yet though.,. but it sounds accurate ..

where did you see it online ? if I may ask..
It is guidance from the CDC in the USA:

There just isn't and mostly likely will not be any other way of reducing Covid spread or the disease this virus causes. It should come as no surprise that vaccines will be needed and used for as long as the virus continues to negatively affect large numbers of people, communities and economies. There just isn't anything else we can do....
Really?
Whatever happened to immunity?
I forget, which vaccine did they issue during the Spanish Flu?

It has been decided that deferring to the immune system would likely over burden the healthcare system, result in more deaths than necessary, result in major economic harm and this is not what the majority of the population wants their Govt to do. A good example of a posted retort meant to prompt a reaction over a substantive discussion of what was originally said. A quickly sequenced and rolled out vaccine candidate in 1918, please!

Where are you getting this ? and at WHAT Percentage of people being Vaccinated is deferring to IMMUNE system still "overburdening " the system.

You make a VERY broad statement like this , which is I am sorry to say standing on its own , is totally meaningless .

Just noticed this, it's hilarious how a lot of the pro-abortion "my body my choice" crowd sure are on the side of forced vaccinations.

Pro Choice is not Pro Abortion. But, then you may have an agenda to prevent any abortions, or at last ones by choice.
I am actually Pro Abortion, in some cases, retroactively applied. But abortion is not the topic here, is it?

As for getting a vaccine. Why do you care what other people say about it? Do your own research and decide what you want to do. Getting the vaccine is up to you and your risk levels, since the government here is not yet and may never make it a law that everyone be vaccinated. Everyone that wants a vaccine has had the time and opportunity to get one in the DR. Just this past week I saw very few people at Parque Central and none at all in Jumbo getting vaccinated.

I am still waiting for the DR to make those unvaccinated into a lower class of citizen with fewer rights at freedom of movement. Will that happen, I have no idea.

Time to move on and learn to live with it, as DR's President Abinader has already said.

Now in the DR, how will they do it? I suggest they will just make up the numbers and reopen soon.
In essence, moving on and living with it. Time will tell.

Kudos to you, JD, and the moderator(s).

We can now await the new ways the "government will insist that all are vaccinated."

Perhaps dropping baskets of food out of a helicopter might entice the people. ;)

Note to Luis, I am going with this suggestion to the DR government:

Pay them 1,000 RD to be vaccinated. (after the second dose, of course.)

Sound like a plan?

Biden here in US says the same, pay them $100 and get 'em vaccinated.

Not for me

Requirement is STILL for PCR test to enter the US from the DR? My next trip back to USA will be "stick up my nose" for the 7th time. Some of the member here (Sky and Windy)keep careful watch on this. One favor please: when you see a change to this protocol....please post!

It was called "50 million deaths & 500 million infections" or one in every third person alive with 10% lethality - and to this day you can still see people vouching for the great success of naturally acquired herd-immunity. Darwin would be proud.

Same rule. But you can take an Antigen test or a PCR. Antigen is about 1800rd and result in less than an hour.

A friend of mine just left POP for MIA a week ago. Got the test at the airport.
