Keep posting your nonsense...........................

Exemplary tourist recovery of DR: rises to 73% hotel occupancy

David Collado, Minister of Tourism, explained that the Dominican Republic has had an unprecedented recovery in the tourism industry and continues to reaffirm “the commitment we have in the sector.”
“When we took control in the sector this reached about 15 thousand operating rooms with an occupancy rate of 15%, today we have more than 73 thousand rooms open with an occupancy in recent weeks of 73%”, he said.
He said that bookings for December exceed 26%, which was had in the same season for the year 2019

Well we can agree on one thing.........the posts I reference before this one............were nonsense. 99.9% lol.

And this one is likely no different.

Given the rise of rise of new virus cases, the waning efficacy/effectiveness and problems with the current vaccines and the ongoing concerns about the delta variant worldwide, the additional facts that all the hotels are not open, that their still remains shortages of planes and crew........................the DR will be hard pressed to exceed 26% of their December tourist numbers of 2019. That number in December 2019 was 624,000. That would mean 786,000 tourists for December 2021.

On or about the second week of January 2022, we will know how nonsensical that statement is likely to be.

Carry on.

Almost as funny as this Comment made by a Laughing Hyena

"By vaccinating the unvaccinated, increasing our testing and masking, and protecting the vaccinated, we can end this pandemic. That’s exactly what we are committed to doing. "

Protecting the Vaccinated ?? .
.. LMFAO
we have to protect the Vaccinated
we been doing it all wrong apparently ... protecting the Unvaccinated
we need to get the Unvaccinated VACCINATED so that we can then Protect them,
Forever ..

There are over 70 deaths per day (those officially reported) in the US alone. Seems it's a game of Russian roulette.
If you already had Covid and now have natural immunity seems stupid to get the shots.
And that's deaths - there are many more heart issues that are being caused.

Remember that miracle and hype in Serrana Brazil and elsewhere with Si No Vac;

And now this;

Rhetorically speaking...................wonder why Brazil and so many other countries, including the DR, are moving away from the placebo like Si No Vac.

Yea, but that's Brazil. The USA and DR have the esteemed Dr. Fauci on top of this. What? Me worry?

The DR didn't want Sinovac, but had no choice due to European and USA hoarding all the other vaccines in the beginning.

I would never call out any country for taking care of its own first. What you call hoarding I call the correct approach when such vaccines are in short supply. Even if that country were China. Russia or North Korea, I would not criticize that approach. As it was, Operation Warp Speed in the US is the reason people have any vaccines at all as soon as they did.

Where I do put blame is on China for continuing a cover up and refusing to cooperate on the lab leak in Wuhan. That is all on China.

From the linked article:

Despite being less effective than some other vaccines, the Chinese shot was a crucial stopgap for many countries that didn’t get immediate access to Western-made shots.

As the only widely available vaccine in Brazil earlier this year, CoronaVac was the first to be administered, doled out to medical workers and the elderly.

CoronaVac played its role, it helped a lot,” said Henrique Mandetta, former health minister.

About 14,000 Brazilians over the age of 80 would have died if they hadn’t been vaccinated with what was available, mostly CoronaVac, according to a study by Harvard and Brazil’s Pelotas universities. - highlights mine.

So, at a time when there were no other vaccines available the "placebo-like Sinovac" saved lives and helped prevent the spread - albeit not as efficiently as the Western vaccines. Which is irrelevant as they weren't available - however, it makes sense to switch to the better product now that supply is expanding to the poorer nations.

Meantime, thanks for the memories, Sinovac. You saved a lot of lives.

Are the unvaccinated endangering the vaccinated? In so far as hospitals & ICUs are overwhelmed by mostly unvaccinated Covid patients, yes, of course they endanger anyone needing urgent care. Not to mention the unvaxxed spread the virus at much higher rates than the vaxxed, due to both higher viral loads and simply the sheer number of infected - while also providing hosts for further mutations.

To wit: A rise in COVID-19 cases is overwhelming hospitals

As of Sept. 7, data shows that approximately 58% of hospitals around the nation are facing high or extreme stress. High stress is defined as hospitals with COVID-19 cases comprising 10-20% of hospital patients, and extreme stress is defined as COVIID-19 cases comprising more than 20% of hospital patients. This increase in the percentage of patients is mostly driven by low vaccination coverage. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts, all of which have vaccinated more than two-thirds of their populations, have seen the lowest number of new COVID-19 cases per capita during the past week.

You may be thinking, “I’m vaccinated, so why does this affect me?” When hospitals are overwhelmed, it affects anyone who needs any kind of medical attention. If people get injured or have a condition that must be treated very quickly — such as a stroke — but they live in an area where the closest hospitals are overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, they may be unable to get treated properly and quickly. This can have deadly consequences - highlights mine.

The point being................Si No Vac was more placebo-like. Maybe it saved lives...........and maybe it did not. But one thing is clear, there are no long term studies available on its possible long term effects.

If it truly was as effective as all the public relations articles that were put out over the last 6-8 months (funded by the Chinese)...................no country would be abandoning it.

But they are abandoning it......................precisely because there are better alternatives........or so they believe.

That is quite a List .. I wonder how many will take the time to actually READ it ..

The Long term effects have not even begun to reveal themselves .. give it 5 years .. its going to get very ugly . ( for some , not all)

but hey , this is a ONE SIZE FITS ALL Vaccine .. right ? . so they tell us , right ?
Vaccines are highly unlikely to cause side effects long after getting the shot - Science shows that even the most serious side effects for any vaccine, including COVID-19, occur within just a few weeks.

“Side-effects nearly always occur within a couple of weeks of a person being vaccinated,” says John Grabenstein, director of scientific communication for the Immunization Action Coalition. He adds that the longest time before a side effect appeared for any type of shot has been six weeks.

“The concerns that something will spring up later with the COVID-19 vaccines are not impossible, but based on what we know, they aren’t likely,” adds Miles Braun, adjunct professor of medicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and the former director of the division of epidemiology at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
While some worry about highly unlike hypothetical long-term side-effects, others worry about what's right in front of them now: Covid. A pandemic that's taken over 4.5 million lives - many of them because they "trusted their own immune systems". Not going so well that...

The vax is "highly unlikely to cause side effects." Is that "highly unlikely" less than or more than the "highly unlikely" to have a serious issue with the Wuhan flu?
