Hi all. I have searched threads but have not found what I need. Can anyone recommend outdoor furniture in or around Santo Domingo. I am not in need of stuff that will last a lifetime, nor cheap "blow mould" plastic chairs. Wooden, bamboo woven handcrafted stuff is ideal, but if the plasticky woven stuff is the only option well so be it (not ideal of course). I can drive outside of SD, but would need EXACT location or map pin drop.

We bought ours on Duarte Highway but I can’t give you an address. All metal, aluminum, they have many many different tables and chairs, different styles. Just keep driving and stay on the right, it’s an outdoor market that you can’t miss.

We bought handmade Adirondack chairs from a local guy in Palenque.

Thank you, I will take a drive out on Saturday morning. Could you give an idea of approx how long (eg. 30 minutes, 1hour) outside of SD?

Illumel is great. There is a new outdoor furniture shop in Santiago. It's after Licey, but before the highway overpass that is always jammed with traffic (I think.) It's on the right. The furniture that is outside is beautiful. I have not stopped yet, as there is nothing I need, but someday will just go and look. I think it will be worth it.

You can find some really good quality molded plastic chairs at Jumbo. They usually have matching chaise lounges and Adirondack type molded chairs that are really comfortable.

They also have the cheapie ones, but I have never been fond of those.

I’m so sorry, neither of us can remember exactly. I *think* it’s where the road from Santo Domingo Este merges with Duarte. Before the toll. Before the circonvalacion crosses Duarte. They delivered to us for free (because I’m the untrusting type, we paid a deposit and the balance upon delivery).

PS. You can bargain with them.

Think you might be talking about where Columbia av meets into the autopista Duarte. should be around K16. if you pass the la sirena you passed it. Hard to miss.

Is this the old fashion heavy wrought iron furniture, or the new cheap stuff from Home Depot or Lowes that I throw away after my chubby friends visit? No disrespect meant to your patio set. It looks nice.
