Any bus options to - from SDQ or is it still only taxi or Uber ? I know about the Guaga but that is brutal.

I answered in your other thread on this same topic

"Do you speak Spanish?

If not I'd consider the safety and convenience of the taxi well spent. I've always taken a taxi. Others have dabbled, with less and less success, with trying Uber. The distance from the airport to the main road is prohibitive, safety wise, to walking IMO but if you could get there then a publico. If you aren't familiar with the routes, forget it.

TLDR just pony up and take a taxi"

First, both to and from SDQ and Sto. Dom. never pay more than RD$1,500 for a taxi. Second there is a bus option, both safe and cheap, FROM Sto. Dom. TO SDQ but NOT from SDQ to Sto. Dom. On the street that runs parallel to Duarte behind California Sederias and one or two blocks north of Parque Enriquillo is the bus station with buses to Boca Chica. I believe that the street that the bus station is on is Jose Marti and that the cross street is Enrique y Carbajal. It has been there for many years. Buses leave from there to the airport every day from 6 to 10 in the morning and costs 100 pesos. Many airport employees take that bus. You must tell the drive when you enter the airport to stop at the main entrance. Definitely take a taxi to that station and go early and don't take a chance on the last bus.

Sometimes, even if my flight leaves in the afternoon, I take that early bus and chill out at the airport, smoking a cigar out front (good cigar shop and not too too expensive for an airport) and drink a coffee. Maybe you don't smoke cigars . . .

Lucas thank you very much. This is what I was asking and looking for and it seems not only me but many of our wanna be self proclaimed experts had no idea existed either so we all learned something.

Once again thank you and if the name of the company pops into your head later please share.

Not as telling as your pinching of pesos though.............................
I travel around the world and yes whenever I can pay 100 pesos vs. 1,700 as you guys recommend ..YES ! ... I'm all in.

Getting ripped off in 3rd world countries is something I try to avoid but if that is your guys idea of "living the dream" that we hear so much about carry on I bet you just love big ATM fees too ...

If that's your focus then so be it. Do you also just eat street food? Stay in hostels and fly Spirit air? Some in fact I'd say most of us prefer to minimize hassle and maximize the more important things. That does not equate to getting ripped off. Squandering time I could have otherwise enjoyed is getting ripped off, bigly! LOL

You may think that wasting spending time and energy trying to save a buck is what it's all about but most of us would rather focus on the enjoyment, and time savings. While you're still waiting for your bus I'll already be checked into my nice hotel and be sitting at the bar or in a restaurant people watching.

Different strokes there Willis. ;)

Does it run 24/7? Just 6 am to 10 am? Is there a schedule posted somewhere, online perhaps?

How do the employees that use this to get to the airport for work return home? It's certainly not going to be in a taxi. Is it just the guagua or is there another bus or similar option?

Thanks!

Look at you always trying and failing to always be right LOL

I'm only curious to get the full story on this bus. If it's only available 6-10 in the morning it's usefulness is in question. Also the staff allegedly using it have to return somehow since it's only to the airport and not from.

Think what you wish and try being a little grateful.

I came here to try and catch up on current state of la RD and to try and practice my English. I speak it okay but written is not so good.

This may not be the best place for that since I have no interest in arguing, especially with the narrowminded. At least you are trying to be amusing.

You, Rover, said you are a world traveler. Where have you been? How is your success in avoiding what you call getting ripped in other countries?
