AeroRepública and Fast Colombia cleared for new flights from Colombia

AeroRepública is approved to fly the Medellín/Santo Domingo/Medellín route, announced Jose Marte Piantini, president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC). The Colombian airline is authorized through 9 May 2024 to transport passengers, cargo and mail between Colombia and the Dominican Republic. The flight would be biweekly, yet the company has not announced the start date. A B737-800NG with capacity for 186 passengers is to be used.

The JAC also approved Fast Colombia’s request to fly Medellin/Punta Cana/Medellin. Fast Colombia (formerly Viva Air) is a Colombian low-cost airline in operation since 2009. It will be using A320-NEO (capacity 188 seats) and A320-CEO aircraft (capacity for 180 seats). The airline will operate 4 flights per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) on the approved frequency.

Several times at STI I've seen AeroRepública, but I thought they were actually Copa flights to Panamá. So now AeroRepública is actually AeroRepública? Though it says Medellín/Santo Domingo/Medellín and not Santiago (yet).

AeroRepublica its a company created by Copa to operate in Colombia, now they are operating as DBA Wingo.
