The bishop of La Altagracia, Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte criticized the recent accusations of racism in the country as “fabricated questionings without any reasoning”. He said: “Internationally there are many sectors that are threatening us, questioning us without any reasoning, simply by fake news, by fabricated questionings.”

“How to say, that we Dominicans who come from the integration of English, French, Spanish races, we have racist nuances, that is false of all falsehood,” he said. Castro Marte spoke during the inauguration ceremony of the expansion of the Romana Cruise Terminal.
