And some places like CL make some owners feel like they bought a condo. even if they have one of their houses.
I know the fees for one fellow and his 2 condos on Cabarete beach are half of what I live on monthly. It is more like he is renting the spaces.

As for the revamp of old AI resorts into condos, nobody can predict what tomorrow will bring to them, but I agree there is quite a bit of unused such space in just Cabarete in Jardin Deportivo, near Perla Marina and Punta Goleta. I only know of the one near Coconuts/Encuentro that has shown some reportedly slow work being done.

It's the same with the hideous, big new condo project on Cabarete beach next to Pomodoro restaurant. It seems they only have enough money to pay about three workers, as that's all I see. Like the one mentioned above, at this rate it won't be finished in my lifetime!

I'd suggest the owners have persons in those places to signal a presence so squatters don't move in.

They are indeed on the south (non ocean side of the road, route 5) between Costa Azul and the main highway. The 3rd and 4th floors might have a view of the ocean. The second floor, probably not.

Prices are from $135,197 to $522,588 USD, so get 'em while they are hot.

I've never seen so much construction going on before on the north coast. Every time I drive to Sosua, there's a new site being cleared for some project. A lot of new residential housing construction gong on even in the barrios. Dominicans are flush with money somehow(?).

And the infrastructure can't cope with what we already have!

Exactly why I started this thread. Most of the projects are not visible to those just riding on route 5 between Puerto Plata and Gaspar Hernandez.
Infrastructure overload is a huge problem. Just taking a left turn out of my development is taking several minutes where there used to be nobody before.

CORAAPPLATA has no way to cope with this, so wells will have to be used, but how long will they last?
EDENADA is of course another sore spot with everyone forced to have backup generators if only because of their constant "maintenance" outages.

I saw the map... and yes they mention Kite Beach Hotel, Kite Club, but not Ocean front properties like Extreme, Pelican and that big complex ocean side next to Pelican (Ocean Point 2?, same builder as Ocean Point). And yes it must be to the northeast of Dulce Vida right? Where will they have beach access? And yes Ocean view, they will for sure have the view and the sound of a noisy street.

Mareal Cabarete is directly across the main highway from the recent incarnation of El Rocon .
And directly north of the original part of Costa Azul.

Dead center on the southwest side of the main road across from El Rocon (misspelled here as El Roncon):
People can get to the part of the beach about 100 meters away through the El Rocon area.

HDR, I think you were talking about Ocean Dream, Ocean One and Harmony near what was the Pelican bar years ago. Mareal is not close to that at all since it is in the El Rocon/ La Cienaga Road/Costa Azul are next to the farm along La Cienaga road . In fact that farmer is going to use quite of bit of growing space he is squatting on to the Mareal project.

Anyone have info or knowledge of the new condos going up across from Playa Dorada, Atlantic Blue? The land was cleared and signs are posted.

Out of curiosity...
do any of these new residential developmemts mentioned have elevators/ handicap access for the folks who do want to live on the ground floor?
