To the moon, Alice, to the moon...

No problems with Altice on the north coast, but I just use them for cell phone service.

Gee, I must be the only one getting the Internet on my cell phone.
Altice in my house, and Claro on my phone. I used to have blazing speed on my Claro phone, but they have gradually decreased it to the point I don't use it anymore.

Claro Fiber Optic @ home, works like a charm.
Altice cellular service sucks. I have a connection issue with them at least once a week. I've complained to them about it more than once. Waste of time.

Since this is an Altice thread: Does anyone know how to find out online:

1. When does your contract expire.
2. What speeds is your contract for.
3. How much data/month is your contract for.
4. How to upgrade without incurring contract cancellation fees.

Thanks!

I will make it simple so you can understand. Fiber optic home internet is from a modem IN YOUR HOUSE. Your cell phone comes from cell towers OUTSIDE of your house. Comprendi?........

You have to download the "mi Altice" app for your phone or tablet.
Alternately, you can access your account information online at their website.
I have found that upgrading does not give your contract cancellation fees.
Each time I have done it...I get a contract extension.

I have been having problems with my Altice mobile hotspot for the last seven days.
Intermentant service and very slow.

An EE and an IT are two different fields.........And his post tells me so.........
Oh, I fully understand. One of my main clients was CISCO back in the SF Bay area. along with every other internet backbone company of the time. I had one of the first cable modems back in the day in Fremont, CA. Had DSL from CLARO which sucked here in the DR and finally got fiber with Cable Del Norte which has worked well for me.

I have a neighbor who has having problems with his home internet with Cable Del Norte Fiber. He tried Altice and they absolutely were horrible so he is going to go back to Cable Del Norte. CLARO fiber is not available in my development, but is on either side of it. So I cannot comment on how well it works.

If you're just visiting I recommend you go to Claro and buy a pre-paid SIM card. You can then add credit to the card/ account and purchase an internet/ data package directly from you phone in a few easy steps. It can be used as a hotspot as well. Claro has the best coverage across the country and it works really well in places like Boca Chica, Puerto Plata and Sosua.
