Good hot dogs?
I was told by Nick who used to own Big Nicks in Cab that in Santiago he procured Hebrew National at some point, but this was years ago. There is a brand called Eckrich sold in Playero and Janets, also Johnsonville has some better quality sausages/franks for grilling and BBQs
Any time I come into the DR I have 2 large packets of these...........None better...........

I bought them a couple of months ago from there. Be aware sometimes their website is not accurate regarding what's in stock.
Ouch 855 pesos! I knew they’d be pricey but didn’t expect about $15. Guess I’ll stick to frozen in my luggage 😳
Sabretts is another good brand.
Besides craving and searching for a great hot dog my birthday is looming and I would like a nice ribeye,,,,,,any suggestions?
Nacional has Angus Ribeye that is as good as you can get buying here. And for a small propina cut to order.................
Don't rule out BRAVO. They always stock ribeye steaks and most are thick cuts. I've gone through quite a few of them, which are always very good.
That's interesting. After BBQ'ing hundreds and hundreds of hotdogs for a number of years at a well-known charity event, I can tell you that Emilio's was far and away the most popular. I get that they are not all-beef, but 1 year I switched to another brand ( can't remember which one ) and got lots of comments about the blah blah taste. After that it was always Emilio's.
I bought the Hebrew National at Pricesmart once and they seemed extra salty, on occasion they have Bar S polish sausage, which I know is not a true 'hot dog', but they're not bad at all, I remember maple leaf natural casing as a kid, one of the best
Both Playero and Pola sometimes has the Oscar Mayer Angus all beef hot dogs,expensive and tiny in size but as good as the Hebrew National dog in my opinion,I buy them up when I see them.
