Haitian: "Haitians are more racist than Dominicans"

Today in Somos Pueblo, a Haitian that has been living in the DR since he was 18 years old (already has more thsn two decades living in the DR) says that based on what he has seen of Dominicans and he knowing what is believed by his countrymen in Haiti, he has come to the conclusion that Haitians are more racist than Dominicans. He says that many Haitians don't want anything to do with Dominicans. Based on his experience, Dominicans have helped him, gave him job opportunities, he has seen how Haitians go to a Dominican public hospitals and the doctors (all Dominicans) treat them with care and love. He has seen that, no one can tell him otherwise.

He says it in Spanish from 11:41.

Well, Luis Abinader should grant him Dominican citizenship by presidential decree. I think it's clear he is in the right side of things (not so much what he says about Dominican racism, but rather that is very clear he is about being fair and defend Dominicans where they need to be defended.) He also says not just that Dominicans have helped him, but that he is very grateful to Dominicans and the DR for the things that hsve been done in allowing him to be and progress in the country.

He also says other things based on knowing his country, such as he says the very same Haitians will eventually destroy the canal since Haitians can't last in agreement about something. This is based on his experience.

Why can't people ever tell the difference between racism and xenophobia.
I don't believe one second that Haitians can be racist towards Dominicans (hate based on skin color), that would make no sense, but xenophobic? Definitely.

As eloquent as he sounds, he could have used better wording.

Racism is an "in" word right now. Everything's racist. The word has lost its meaning.

Racism can be based on any perceived differences between people of different races or ethnicities. It can also be based on cultural differences, religious beliefs, and other factors. So skin color may not be much of a factor in this case.

Also let's keep in mind that him saying the opposite on a Dominican platform would be HIGHLY unlikely. He wouldn't dare.

So what he said wasn't exactly brave nor worth an applause. Just something to be expected considering the circumstances (a Haitian on a Dominican show). We call it "political correctness" in North America.

So I don't know what the Dominicans are congratulating him for in those youtube comments, like he is brave or something.

He does says that many Haitians criticize him in social media and many have threatened him if he ever goes back to Haiti. Some have cursed him using witchcraft, but he reiterates that he doesn't care since what he is saying is the truth. He also commented that he has heard/read what is said about the DR and Dominicsns in Haiti, but he knows from personal experience noth countries, that is the DR portrayed in the Haitian media isn't quite the DR in reality.
