Toxic Generosity
As an American working abroad in 3rd world countries for the past 15 years, it had some relevance. Nonetheless, good fundamental advice anywhere in the world.
As an American working abroad in both 1st world and developing countries for the last 18 years, I agree.
I would say that it applies to many young ladies here, too.

When it comes to women in the DR, no one under 35 and no one unemployed.

The large extended family stopped coming to greet me at the airport when the gifts stopped. Coincidence?
I'm a sales guy. A good seller will always have a job.

More recently? Outsourcing/ Call Center business in the Dominican Republic.
