I drink about 3-4 cartons of OJ each week.
But has anyone else noticed that RICA brand "No Azucar" Orange Juice has changed ?
And not for the better. Now it looks like like Tang. If you don't shake it all you get is nearly water and the flavor is not even close to what it was.
I won't buy much of it now, or switch brands if they can't bring back the quality it once had.

I drink it all the time also. Checked the one I bought yesterday and it was still the same as always. Maybe you got a bad one, or I had on older one. Time will tell. By the way if you can find the fresh squeezed Orange in Jumbo and Nacional that is very good ............

When it comes to adding fruit to your diet, go with the whole fruit but not juice. A Harvard study in the Aug. 29, 2013, BMJ found that drinking a serving of fruit juice every day was associated with as much as a 21% increased risk of developing diabetes. Why? "The juicing processes lead to lower contents of beneficial phytochemicals and dietary fiber. In addition, juice fluids are absorbed more rapidly and lead to more dramatic changes after eating in blood sugar and insulin levels than solid whole fruits," explains senior author Dr. Qi Sun, assistant professor in the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health. The good news is that eating at least two servings per week of whole fruits—especially blueberries, grapes, and apples—was associated with a 23% lower risk of developing diabetes."

"No sugar added" doesn't mean NO SUGAR !!!
It's still loaded by natural sugar.
You could also have a classic coke.

Almost all of these juices are made from a concentrate and lots of water. And the concentrate has all kinds of taste enhancers which are not the actual fruit.

Another used trick is adding a few drops of milk and now it has become a dairy product with a lower tax rate, a “rich on calcium” label and a higher price tag because it’s a “special product’.

Get the source products if you want their benefits. These juices are a placebo.

We have our own Mandarinen and even this juice in the jar looks like water on the top next day in the fridge, always need to move it before poring.

I think the best orange juice you can buy is the one you get at National and Jumbo, where they have a machine that converts whole fruits into fresh juice. Go early and you might get to watch the guy feeding the machine.
Sometimes a little sour, other times super sweet. Reminds me of home.

The orange-colored, no-sugar RICA degraded quite a while back.

You’re right. Sirena SC used to have a machine in their produce department, we bought a gallon every trip. They had other fruit juices too. One day it just disappeared ☹️

I occasionally had a bad one, after a couple days it taste different and after three days go completely sour and gas built up inside make it swell...! But not that often..., my theory is they are left in the hot sun or very hot room... 🤔
