Mexican Restaurant
what's the name of this restaurant? zokalo?
where is the other one - algo mexicano?
how can one get there,, directions by car. please.

Algo Mexicano
We go once or twice a month to Algo Mexicano. Every Thursday night at 9:00 is a Mariachi Band. A big one with about 8 musicians plus singers.
From Feb 27, heading toward center town, turn Right on Ave. Texas, a couple of blocks down on the left is a commercial center, turn left, go two blocks and take a right. it's right around the corner from a park with BasketBall courts, etc. Saturday nights are Karaoke!

to get to zokalo...
get on las estrellas sadhala (sp?) twords puerto plata, take a left after the gran almirante. it will be on your right just after plaza texas. if you need to ask directions, ask for h2o (the liquor store in the same mall)
i recommend the chillaquilles, they are great!

There is a semi-new Mexican restaurant in Los Jardines, to the left of Angelito's (baby/childrens store). Can't remember the name but it is at the end of a strip of about 5 businesses. We drove by it about 3 times before we finally saw it. Still looking for time to try it out....
We just ate at Zokalo's yesterday. Not to bad! The servings are pretty small, though so be prepared. I don't think its super authentic, down home Mexican, (the crunchy taco shells are the kind that Taco Bell uses!) But its the best Mexican I've had in a year!
There's a place called Mangos in the Jardines as well, it's much better and cheaper than Zokalos.
