Hello - I would like to find out how a Dominican with a U.S. felony will be impacted as far as being able to legally immigrate to other counties outside of the D.R.?
My Dominican friend has a U.S. felony (due to a drug selling conviction) dating back almost 10 years ago. After doing time for this felony he was deported back to the D.R. and unfortunately chose to illegally re-enter the U.S. illegally. He was caught residing in the U.S. illegally and is currently serving time in the U.S. for his re-entry and awaiting to be deported back to the D.R.
Once back in the D.R., he wishes to try to legally immigrate to another country, possible in Europe, Austrailia or Canada?
What kind of obstacles might he face?
Are there countries that will choose to not even look at his applications due to the felony he recieved from the U.S.?
Will other countries ask about his U.S. felony in immigration/visa applications?
