I need a 2 year lease starting in January. My wife myself and my stepson will be living in it. It needs to have the internet so I can keep typing on DR1!

You mine as well get a three bedroom, don't forget your suegra is going to be living with you too, and primas/primos!

Sometimes her mother does visit to see Maria's son, but her cousins stay at other family homes in Santiago and I am keeping it that way!

With a double door refrigerator and small deep freeze for when they come over to eat the good food you are well supplied with.

I spoke to someone in Santiago and they said that it is an extreme seller's market right now with things being rented as soon as they come on the market. Is this true at the moment?

Most things get snapped up pretty quickly so although it is stressful if you don't want to start paying rent till January then it is not worth looking until then. Most Dominican let apartments and houses are unfurnished and you can furnish one relatively inexpensively.

I would stay away from a 2 year lease, and go for 6 months. This way you can ascertain you like the neighborhood and your landlord
