Today was the inauguration of this mall. The first 70 stores are now open while another 150 will open by December 15. During the first quarter of 2013 the aquarium will open and a year from now, roughly 75% of all the stores will be fully open.

Don't know if this has already been said - but I went yesterday. The place is only half open as most of the tiendas are either not open yet or have not even constructed their stores. Even the food court only had a few restaurants open. I think the rushed the opening.

I was at the wrong end of a very long line in Claro in Agora Mall last Saturday, when I remembered there was a Claro store in Sambil. I thought that store probably had no lines. Good news is, the store was effectively empty. Bad news is, so was the mall. It's a very nice place, though. Only a handful of stores were open. I think it could be fully open by february or march...

My Dominican wife says that the malls have a lot of people inside, but not many "Customers"!
The poor, and "Young" just go to "See", and be "Seen", not buy anything.
Better ambience than at their house!
Since they are only built to launder drug money, the owners really don't care.
The shop owners will soon be out of business, and it will be time for yet another useless mall!
"Scrub-A-Dub-Dub"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sitting in the coffee place Santo Domingo in Agora right now, drinking a tea between an appointment and picking up the children from school. I wanted to do that in Sambil, went in, however there was no coffee place open, 40 % of the lots seem to be unsold, 30% is sold but not open yet, and maybe a 30% is open.

Most people walking seem to be mall employees. Far from being attractive, just like (or worse than) Agora back in August, while agora now is a lot better, will try Sambil again in 2 months.

There are a couple of food joints opening this following days that will sure bring some people to the mall. IHOP will be one of them, I think it opens tomorrow....
