Do I buy a desktop here or USA, import tax?

Well, if you say I'm wrong then... I don't make the rules, I'm just sharing them with you, and I'm holding the rules right here. LAPTOP, NOTEBOOK, MINIBOOK, you can bring ONE of those either new or used... a desktop computer is not on that list and they name them specifically for a reason...

Do I buy a desktop here or USA, import tax?

Not advisable, since operations are low, airport is not crowded, most bags are going through XRay, we'll see your desktop right through.

You don't need to put the laptop out of the box, you're ALLOWED to bring one laptop either new or used whatever it costs you, just make sure you don't have another laptop with you, because obviously you will be taxed on the newer one.

Do I buy a desktop here or USA, import tax?

Hello. If you use a courrier service like BM Cargo, you will be taxed if your computer costs over $200. Good news is computers pay 0% (Gravamen), they do however pay the standard 18% ITBIS tax (beaware it's not 18% of the price you paid, it's 18% of CIF, that's cost + insurance + freight)...

    New entry procedures

I'm not saying this was your case, because I don't know the circumstances, but sometimes people get confused filling the exit form when they're trying to fill an entry form. if that's the case, then the Migration officer upon entry will see on his screen that you do not have an e-ticket for...

    New entry procedures

Hello Ezequiel, As I stated previosuly Migration won't ask for your e-ticket since it's linked to your passport, at customs, you will be asked to either present the blue written form or the QR code from your e-ticket (in theory until March 31st, after that e-ticket will be mandatory). About...

Thanks for tagging me, yes this is right up my alley, About your question, Obi1 won't enter the primary area at Cibao Airport (inside the terminal), for that he/she would need to make an apointment, send his/her ID, ask for a visitor's tag, etc. but he/she could go to Ciabo airport public...

Santiago Airport - Customs Process for Medicine

If I were you, given the time limitations... I would go talk to the head of customs in Cibao Airport, his name is Melquiades Cabrera, explain the situation to him and go from there.

Santiago Airport - Customs Process for Medicine

Hello, yeah, these things are better to plan ahead honestly, there's a whole process to import goods... specially medicine to another country. The due process is for you to contact a customs broker (agente aduanal), many options, you can google them, can't recommend any. With the customs...

Hello, glad to see you come prepared! Beaware though, if you're entering the country, those mangoes will be a problem (no fruits / vegetables allowed), if you're leaving the DR, check with your destination so you won't have problems with fruits there upon arrival.
